Tru8 expands on the traditional primary palette with Black, White, Blue, Red, Yellow, Brown, Violet and Dark Green. Together, these colours provide a practical foundation for mixing an exceptionally broad spectrum of custom colours, shades and tones.

You can use each colour individually or blend colours together to create your own formulas. Tru Black and Tru White provide additional control over shade, depth and tint, while Brown, Violet and Dark Green make it quicker and easier to reach complex natural and secondary colours.

Every Tru8 colour is also available individually, so when you use more of one colour than another you can simply replace that bottle rather than purchasing another complete set.

Control Colour Strength with Transparent Base

Every Tru8 Set includes TRIDENT Transparent Base. Unlike reducer, Transparent Base contains no colour pigment and allows you to reduce colour strength and increase transparency while maintaining the paint’s viscosity and performance.

This is especially useful when you want to create very subtle colours, transparent layers, glazes, fades and controlled colour transitions. Instead of continually adding reducer or water until the paint becomes excessively diluted, Transparent Base allows you to weaken the visual intensity while the mixture continues to behave like paint.

You can take a strong colour down to an extremely subtle level while retaining far greater control over how the paint sprays and performs.

TRIDENT Airbrush Paint Reducer

Every Tru8 Set includes TRIDENT Reducer Concentrate. TRIDENT Reducer is specifically formulated to maximise paint flow and minimise tip dry while allowing you to adjust the paint to suit your airbrush, nozzle size, air pressure and painting technique.

For standard airbrushing, TRIDENT paint is typically reduced approximately 1:1 with prepared TRIDENT Airbrush Paint Reducer. Greater reduction can be used where appropriate for extremely fine detail work.

The 50ml Reducer Concentrate supplied with the TT8-50 kit makes 500ml of prepared reducer. The 250ml concentrate supplied with the TT8-250 kit makes 2.5 litres.

Use Transparent Base when you want to reduce colour strength or increase transparency without simply over-reducing the paint. Both Tru8 kit sizes include Transparent Base matched to the bottle size of the selected set.

Proper cleaning helps maintain consistent airbrush performance. TRIDENT Airbrush Cleaner removes water-based paint residue while its conditioning agents help lubricate and condition the airbrush and seals.

Excellent for T-Shirts, Fabrics & Textiles

TRIDENT’s multi-surface formulation also makes Tru8 an excellent choice for fabric and textile artwork. The broad solid-colour palette gives artists extensive freedom for T-shirts, clothing, canvas and other textile projects.

When painting textiles, apply TRIDENT T-Shirt Booster over the completed artwork before heat-setting. T-Shirt Booster helps minimise colour fade and washout and assists in locking the colours into the fabric.

Reduction & Application

TRIDENT air cures naturally, although warm air can accelerate the curing process. Adjust reduction and air pressure to suit your airbrush, nozzle size and painting technique.

For automotive, metal and other hard-surface applications, correctly prepare and clean the surface before applying TRIDENT. Use the appropriate primer or substrate preparation system where required.

For textile applications, follow the recommended TRIDENT textile preparation and heat-setting process.
